The much-awaited teaser of Shatak: Sangh Ke 100 Varsh, a film commemorating 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has been unveiled, drawing attention across the country. Timed with the Sangh completing a century since its founding, the film traces its long journey, ideology, and contribution to national life.
The teaser has sparked widespread discussion, with several prominent voices reacting to the project. Yoga guru Baba Ramdev had earlier expressed his support, and now actor Ajay Devgn has also publicly endorsed Shatak, adding to the growing buzz. While attempts have been made in the past to portray the Sangh on screen, Shatak marks the first time such a cinematic effort has received open encouragement and support from within the organisation’s ecosystem.
Congratulating the RSS on completing 100 years, Ajay Devgn wrote in his tweet, "RSS ko sau saal poore hone par dher saari badhaaiyan! Inn sau saalon mein rashtra nirmaan mein sangh ka bada yogdaan raha hai. Iss kaam par aur roshni daalne aa rahi hai film #Shatak. Yeh rahi uski pehli jhalak. Shatak ke sampurn team ko meri ore se dher saari shubhkamnaye!” (Heartfelt congratulations to the RSS on completing 100 years. Over the past century, the Sangh has played a significant role in nation-building. The film Shatak seeks to highlight this journey. Here’s a first glimpse. Best wishes to the entire team behind the film.)
Earlier, the song 'Bhagwa Hai Apni Pehchaan' from the film was unveiled at the RSS headquarters, Keshav Kunj in Delhi, by RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat and in the presence of Shri Bhaiya ji Joshi, who gave his blessings to the film during the launch.
Opening with the line, “This is the story of an idea that many tried to erase again and again over the years,” the teaser signals the film’s intent to address long-standing confusions, criticisms, and misunderstandings surrounding the Sangh by placing them in a historical and factual context. It brings to the fore foundational figures whose contributions were central but seldom acknowledged, such as Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and Guruji Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar, alongside leaders such as Lokmanya Tilak and Mahatma Gandhi. The teaser also touches upon the Sangh’s role during defining moments of Indian history, from the freedom movement to the Emergency.
Directed by Aashish Mall and produced by Vir Kapur, the film is described by Mall as a deeply personal project. “This film has been like a personal journey for me. While working on it, many aspects related to the Sangh came to light that are rarely discussed. Our main aim was to honestly address the misunderstandings that exist in society.”
Vir Kapur notes that among movements that emerged between 1875 and 1950, the Sangh is the only organisation to have continued its work without interruption. The film’s tagline, ‘Na ruke, na thake, na jhuke’ (Neither stop, nor tire, nor bow), reflects this enduring spirit.
Positioned as a tribute to generations of selfless volunteers, Shatak: Sangh Ke 100 Varsh aims to rekindle the idea of nation-building and collective service. The film is set to release in cinemas across India on 19 February 2026.
