This International Women’s Day, singer Abhijeet Ghoshal, known for his journey in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, shares his new song 'Wo Hai Maa, a tribute to mothers and every woman who nurtures, protects, and inspires those around her.
“Mother is the one who makes a house a home,” says Abhijeet Ghoshal, who hails from Prayagraj. “But beyond our own mothers, every woman carries that same care, strength, and love. I wanted to write a song that felt simple and close to life, something everyone could relate to.”
'Wo Hai Maa' is inspired by his mother Jharna and many other motherly figures in his life. This cozy hummable song reflects the small, everyday ways women shape our lives. They comfort us in fear, guide us through challenges, and fill our days with love. “There are so many songs about mothers, some very traditional, some using difficult words,” he explains. “I wanted to keep it simple, like talking to someone you love, so everyone can feel it.”
The music blends modern instruments like drums, guitars, bass, cajon, percussions and tabla, giving it a sound that today’s listeners can connect with. “I wanted it to feel universal,” he adds. “The care and strength of women is something everyone everywhere can understand.”
Releasing the song on International Women’s Day makes it even more special. “Every woman carries a mother’s heart,” says Ghoshal. “She gives life, protects, cares, and makes the world around her better. This song is for all of them.”
'Wo Hai Maa' is now available on all major music platforms, inviting listeners to enjoy a simple, heartfelt tribute to the women who shape our lives every day.
